DAS Lab / Methodology
Transparent methods, explicit limits, and useful early-stage results.
The Lab supports early architectural thinking: site reading, environmental orientation, preliminary sizing, planning checks, and drawing conversions. It does not replace surveys, product data, code review, engineering, or advice from licensed local professionals.
Inputs are converted to consistent internal units before calculation. Results use the formula or reference identified by each tool. Structural and regulatory outputs are deliberately described as preliminary; local editions, amendments, safety factors, and authority requirements must be checked.
Location search uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Climate and rainfall tools use Open-Meteo datasets. Mapping uses attributed imagery or open geographic data as stated in the tool. Provider coverage, resolution, licensing, and availability vary by place and time.
Calculations normally remain in the browser. A tool contacts an external provider only when it needs a place search, map tile, elevation, climate, or rainfall record. Inputs are not intended for confidential project data.
Rounded diagrams are explanatory rather than construction drawings. Geographic, climate, material, and code datasets contain uncertainty. Record the provider, retrieval date, assumptions, units, and tool version whenever a result informs a project decision.
The Lab is experimental and improves through review. If a method, citation, limit, translation, or edge case appears wrong, send the tool name, input values, expected result, and an authoritative reference to info@derzawi.com.
Version 1.0 · October 2026. Free to use for study and early design. Verify every consequential result independently and respect each named data provider’s terms and attribution.
